Questions & Answers for Pure Flix The Measure of a Man, DVD

Question

Does the movie The Measure of a Man, have LDS roots?

I live in Utah and I'm not Mormon. I just watched the trailer and it caught my attention that when they were praying together, they crossed their arms in front of their body, instead of holding hands or just bowing their heads with their own hands clasped together. I know this may seem very trivial, but when you are a Christian living in Utah, it's a little disturbing. The Mormons always pray with their arms crossed in front, like I saw in the trailer.

I watched the movie after watching the trailer, and no, the movie does not present any of the characters as coming from a Mormon faith. However, it is quite obvious to me that the movie is promoting the "American Dream" which is exactly what the LDS church/organization promotes. It's not about relying on God for anything; it's about self sufficiency.
