Is it Max Lucado who wrote the story? or did he quote it from somewhere?

But I have looked at the book and in the end notes about this story, M. Lucado mentions author unknown?!
Either he wrote the story and did not want to take the credit for it, or he copied somewhere.
The best would be that he answers himself

Anyway, the story is great, and appealing

Max Lucado wrote a short story called "The People with the Roses" which was reworked into a DVD. The story can be found in the book And the Angels Were Silent.

Yes, Max Lucado did write this story. The title of the story is "The People with the Roses" and it can be found in "And the Angels Were Silent: Walking with Christ Toward the Cross" (CBD stock number 921308).
