Who is Johnathan Sperry

I think I noticed at the beginning of the movie, it said that that the movie wasn't based on real events. While I was wondering if Johnathan Sperry was a real man, and if the boys in the movie where real people, that turned out to have the careers that they said they did. I was wondering about who Johnathan Sperry is. Thanks for your help.

This was not a true story and the movie was not about real people's lives. This was just a movie that was used to show how an older person can have an impact on kids. Also, to encourage others to do so.

This movie is fictional. The projection of what the boys became is to give us the sense that leading a young man to Christ can have a profound impact on his life, if he totally gives his life over to the Saviour.
Jonathan Sperry was played by Gavin MacLeod, if that's what you're wondering. He also plays a lead role in another excellent film - The Time Changer. I highly recommend this as well.

I did research on this on the internet. Jonathan Sperry is a fictional character made up by the writer/director of this movie.
