answer 1
No it does not, but people need to be aware that the whole concept of a red-letter edition is relatively recent in terms of Bible publishing. The first red-letter edition NT was published in 1899, with the first red-letter edition of the Bible being published in 1901. Since the only popular edition of the Bible at the time was the KJV, which did not use quotation marks, it became very useful. Since modern orthography and punctuation uses quotation marks, there is less need for such devices and a red-letter edition is not necessarily superior to an edition which does not use red letters.
