Forty-five year old Kathleen Salerno decides that with a husband who works all the time and a daughter in college, a change of scenery is just what she needs. When her husband takes a three-month filming job in New Zealand, Kathleen steels herself for an Australian adventure. Unfortunately, she finds herself spending most of her time alone in a small bungalow with no clothes drier or car! Determined to get rid of her self-pity, Kathleen starts exploring, only to find a best friend in another Californian native in New Zealand.
