The Basic Math DVD Series helps students build confidence in their mathematical knowledge, skills, and ability.

This episode begins with learning multiplication not as a rote method of computation but as a logical process. An alternative method of multiplication, called lattice multiplication, is introduced to enhance the student's ability to accurately multiply multi-digit numbers, and the concept of division as the opposite of multiplication is discussed. The importance of place value in multiplication and the difference between addition and multiplication are studied. Grades 3-7. 30 minutes on DVD.
