Recorded live with Andres Pudewa's humorous style, the Student Writing Intensive course is based upon the principles of the Teaching Writing: Structure and Style course, but is presented directly to students. As a unique complement to the Structure & Style course, parents' understanding of the course will be increased, while students will gain additional insights that will allow them to complete assignments with ease and skill. 15 lessons on four DVDs are included, accompanied by suggested assignments for additional practice. Each level presumes no previous experience.

This Level A course is intended for Grades 2-5; each lesson will take approximately 1-2 weeks to complete, for a total of a 15-30 week course, depending upon time spent upon assignments. Student materials include reading selections, checklists and other information; pages are reproducible within a family. This Level A course covers:

Is this a good program for stuggling TEACHERS?!

I love homeschooling, but the one subject that makes my stomach churn is writing. It wasn't my best subject (I'm a science/math type) and it is so subjective that I don't really know what to expect out of a paper, so I have trouble grading (am I asking for too much, should he know "this" or do I come back to this later and let the error go for now..) that sort of thing. I've tried many programs and even tried to get outside help, but it was very expensive and not very productive. This is expensive to me. I'm totally willing to spend it for a good answer to my needs, but I dread forking out that much money for more disappointment.

I have been researching this program for a few weeks now. This particular set is for the students. I think you should look into the other set of DVD's that were designed for the parent/teacher called Teaching Writing Structure & Style. You can also purchase Teaching Writing Structure & Style with the student set and it will cost a little less together.

This curriculum is designed to teach the student directly and provides clear instruction for them. It would be most helpful if you view the DVDs with your student.
