Knopf Books for Young Readers The Phantom Tollbooth - eBook

Make your way through the Doldrums and journey through the city of Dictionopolis, where the world's letters are bought and sold!

Milo--a very bored little boy--must rescue the twin princesses Rhyme and Reason, who have been banished for agreeing that numbers and letters are equally important. Reaching the Kingdom of Wisdom through the Phantom Tollbooth (which he assembles and enters because he has nothing better to do), Milo encounters a fanciful world filled with puns and imaginative places based on literalized English idioms...and when he returns, he finds the world a rather more engaging place for the wisdom he's learned.
