Product Description

Perfect Piece is a perfectly conceived conclusion to the charming Sisters, Ink series of novels for women. At the heart of each story are four unlikely sisters, each separately adopted into the home of Marilyn and Jack Sinclair where they still meet as adults in their late mother's attic to work on scrapbook projects and work through life together.

The Sinclair sisterhood is about to be rocked from its foundation when Meg-the bedrock sibling most like Momma-collapses with a brain tumor. Surgery removes the invading mass but leaves a sister full of mood swings, depression, anger, and bitterness. Tandy, Kendra, and Joy struggle to find a trace of their formerly happy sister, who always pointed them to life's positives. Meg's husband, Jamison, struggles even more. With no idea how to handle the new, unimproved person inhabiting his wife's body, he finds it too easy to seek solace in the clever conversation of another woman. What none of them realize is that the wisdom they need is already at hand.

Endorsements

Oh Rebeca! I'm going to gush a minute here...so be warned! I just discovered Net Galley! I got to read the galley of Perfect Piece! And here I thought it was going to be all about Meg's health issues and recovery! Boy did you take me places I didn't know I was going to go! I didn't see the stuff with Meg and Jamison coming at all!! WOW! And then to have Zelda hold the key to understanding and God's grace...well dear lady...you have iced the Sister's Inc. cake! Bravo!! I went ahead and sent my review through Net Galley, but I think I might post about Perfect Piece next week after the tour of Scrapping Plans - sort of a teaser to keep folks' interest up and know that there is a fantastic story to look forward to this Summer!

What on earth will I do without the sisters??

Thank you for sharing God's grace in your stories and reminding us that His stories are always the BEST!! - Kim Ford, Window To My World

MY REVIEW:

"But what happens when someone else changes your tune? When you can't remember how to sing it or even what it sounded like?" (p. 42)

Oh, dear reader, do you know what it's like to have life go terribly wrong? Out of control? Becoming an overwhelming mess? Then you have asked yourself the same questions that Meg asks in Rebecca SeitzÂ’ final installment of Sisters, Inc. Perfect Piece is the crown jewel of this marvelous series. With each sister's story, Seitz took the reader deeper and deeper into the lives of the Sinclair family. Perfect Piece is Meg's story, and it is one that effects the entire family.

All of us who belong to Christ have asked the Lord, "Why me?" when things go wrong. No one enjoys going through the painful trials that life often brings our way. In this story, a medical emergency throws the family into a realm of shock and harsh reality that makes each day a difficult challenge. Although each family member must cope with the sudden changes, there are some who are affected in ways that are as shocking as the medical emergency itself.

As the story develops, the characters take turns in their lives that even scrapping can't seem to cover. This time their insight comes in a very unexpected, God-designed way. The results? Perfect Piece!

I totally agree with Jack by the end of the story, "...I'm learning we're not quite smart enough to write the stories He (God) writes. His have twists and turns that we wouldn't know to go after." (p. 310) Don't miss this incredible finale to this delightful series! Your heart will be blessed, and you will better understand God's precious gift of mercy and grace!

Fidelity is a touchy issue for many couples. I loved the way Rebeca handled it in this story. She has a knack for going deep into the secret places of a woman's heart and exploring areas that we don't always want to look at, but we need to if we're ever to be all Christ designed us to be.

And she does it with humor and heart. My husband came up to hug me, and I was upset. I told him about the book I'd just finished, and he asked me if everything turned out all right. My response? "For now, I guess..." Then, he reminded me...THEY'RE NOT REAL PEOPLE! But they feel so real and alive to me! This is one of THE BEST series for women I've read, and I can only hope Rebeca still has more stories in her!

For now, I'm giving "Perfect Piece" five out of five bookmarks, with a curling iron as a charm (Meg will need it soon!). I'm also voting "Sisters, Ink" Best Women's Lit Series of 2009!

I'm going to miss the Sinclair sisters. Rebeca, if they ever stop by for a visit, be sure to let me know what they're up to! - deenasbooks.blogspot.com
