Publisher's Description

Evil is real, and Christian women know it. While most books on the topic of spiritual warfare take a charismatic approach, Spiritual Warfare for Women aims directly at the center of the evangelical market, giving instruction and assurance to all women who want to protect themselves and the ones they love. McCoy provides spiritual wisdom and practical tips on identifying the enemy's strategies, overcoming fear, and exercising the power that comes from God. The book is structured around the battle between God's love and Satan's lies. Once a woman can embrace the first and reject the second, she is well on her way to victory.

Tell us a little about yourself.  I am a pastors' wife, mother and grandmother. My husband and I have served Thompson Station Church for over 20 years and have experienced growing from 8 to over 2000 members.

What was your motivation behind this project?  As my understanding of the partnership God wants us to have with Him through prayer increased, I became aware of spiritual forces working against us. I felt like we spent a whole lot of time recovering from attacks we didn't understand. So I decided to learn more. In this book I share what I've learned.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  One of my husband's favorite sayings is, "I might be ignorant but I'm not stupid. To be ignorant is not to know, to be stupid is to refuse to know." I want women not to be ignorant. I want them to know who their Enemy is and learn how he targets them for attack. Men might enjoy reading this book as well. Especially husbands and pastors. This book will give them insight into the spiritual battles women face.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  Oh my. I came to this project with a bit of exaggerated confidence. Because I'd overcome my fear in order to address this subject, I almost shouted, "Bring it on!" But within the first 3 months of writing I was diagnosed with cancer, our church was flooded and my 18 year old daughter discovered she was pregnant. I was humbled. But nevertheless, as I continued the task of speaking forth truth I'd embraced as I'd traveled stormy seas in my small boat; I discovered these truths remained the same even though I felt as if my boat was long gone and I was gasping for air bobbing in the water.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  I would imagine I am influenced most by my pastor--who happens to be my husband. Through the years we've discovered spiritual truth together and tested it in the life we've shared. I actually enjoy reading fiction although I write non-fiction. My favorite fiction authors are Francine Rivers and Lynn Austin. However, the most influential book I've ever read is "Hind's Feet on High Places" by Hannah Hurnurd. My favorite artist is Travis Cottrell because he and his family were members of our church and I love his heart for God and the humility and integrity he and his wife walk in daily.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  If there's anything at all I've learned in this project it is that our enemy is real; he's a foe to be respected but not feared. God is far more powerful and has greater authority. Not only does He know what He's doing but He's always doing something big!
