Customer Questions & Answers for
Westminster John Knox Press Romans: Interpretation: A Bible Commentary for Teaching and Preaching

Achtemeier's commentary on is one of the best commentaries on the market for those who are preaching, or for laity. Commentaries often assume much about the reader's background and deal in high-end technical jargon that is not useful for many pastors and lay persons. The Interpretation series by contrast, actively seeks to make the text available to the general reader, and in this volume on Romans has done an outstanding job. Achtemeier does an excellent job of clarifying the issues (of which there are many) for those who lack Greek and Hebrew, but who want to understand the text at a deep level nevertheless.
