Author Bio

Dr. James B. Richards accepted Christ and answered the call to ministry in 1972. His dramatic conversion and passion to help hurting people launched him onto the streets of Huntsville, Alabama. Early on in his mission to reach teenagers and drug abusers, his ministry quickly grew into a home church that eventually led to the birth of Impact Ministries.
With doctorates in theology, human behavior, and alternative medicine, and an honorary doctorate in world evangelism, Jim has received certified training as a detox specialist and drug counselor, as well as a trainer for the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA). His uncompromising yet positive approach to the Gospel strengthens, instructs, and challenges people to new levels of victory, power, and service.
Jim’s extensive experience in working with substance abuse, codependency, and other social/emotional issues has led him to pioneer effective, creative, Bible-based approaches to ministry that meet the needs of today’s world.
Most importantly, Jim believes that people need to be made whole by experiencing God’s unconditional love. His messages are simple, practical, and powerful. His passion is to change the way the world sees God so that people can experience a relationship with Him through Jesus.
Jim and his wife, Brenda, have six grown daughters and fourteen grandchildren. They continue to reside in Huntsville, Alabama.

Editorial Reviews

Though I have spent the past three decades in recovery, the Lord has used this book to deepen my spiritual growth. Dr. Richards’ insights have helped me to recognize many painful judgments in my past. My sinful nature, along with my own willful, deluded thoughts, created a cycle of sin—a death-spiral of pain, drugs, acceptance into the Manson family, and murder, resulting in the destruction of innocent lives. I doubt your heart has caused the pain that mine has. But Jesus says, "If you are angry with someone,
you are subject to judgment!" We reap what we sow, no matter how small. This book dispels all excuses to
judge, no matter how painful our lives become. This book is good news! As painful judgments are
placed upon the Cross, righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit arise. Our relationships with God and others will flourish in the kingdom of love. A rich life of healing will follow, as others are blessed through
walking in His presence.
—Charles "Tex" Watson,  Author of Will You Die for Me?, Mule Creek State Prison, Ione, CA
