answer 1
This book is great. If your mother is open to hear more about God/Jesus the book definately is a great read, and it is written in a very interesting format, refering to the life of Abraham and showing how to draw lessons from his life to ours. I wouldn't say that this book is a primary evangelistic tool, however the author does invite the reader to accept Christ as Savior and Lord in the 2 or 3 or so chapter. I loved this book, and I think it's one of the best christian books I have ever read and I read a lot of them. Hope this helps. In Him - A Christian.

I've been there just as your mother felt about empty and sad life. I was going to commit suicide to take a easy way out. I thought about a lot of way so that I won't feel pain on the way out but then I thought about it again what if end up living without a leg or arms. I then decided not to do it. We are all born for the God's purposes. Many babies never made it to this world and has its reasons not to be here. Once we are born and lived life on the earth is a gift from God. Hope your mom finds the God's purpose for her life. In order to find it, look around what you have and take a good care of it first. Talk to God every day on your quiet time. Talk to someone who has been there and share the feelings. You never know who brings you a light of life to discover about yourself. Everyone of us have something others don't have and don't forget it. It is the key to successful life. You are not alone, I myself still looking for the God's purpose for me and not my own purpose. Our own purpose is usually greedy, selfish, and unkind and it won't last. The true happiness has to come from within. Have a peace within with all the problems will lift you up and have God to take care of your problems. Depend on him and trust and have a faith in God will take care of the most of things. The rest is try yor best to take a good care of your total health means body, heart, mind, and soul.
