Schurer's original work was revised and edited in 1979 by Geza Vermes, Fergus Millar and Martin Goodman. So i was wondering if this was merely a reprint of the original (c.1885-1891) or the recent revised English translation by Vermes, Millar and Goodman?

This is a reprint of the original. I have only volume 1 of the revised edition, the Preface of which states the work "began its career in 1874" in German. "As early as 1885-1891,Messrs T.& T. Clark included an English version of the second German edition in their Foreign Theological Library,under the title,A History of the Jewish People in the Time of Jesus Christ."

No, these books contain historical account including some of Philo works, Jewish expectations of the Messiah, History of the Herods etc

While they may be referred to, it is essentially a history of Israel during the time of Jesus as the title suggests.
