No. There are review questions but testing is not needed at this age level. You study, narrate, and review until the material is captured. I would definitely recommend you use the notebooks.

No. They have a review section at the end of each chapter/topic, that the child is encouraged to give either a written or oral report on the material covered. Gets them involved in the learning process, as well as an introduction to communication skills.

Not really tests just activities, I have my kids keep the astronomy notebook and then they give speeches to their dad. Seems to help them to remember without the stress of tests.
