Is the journal cover like a hardcover, or like flexible leather?

I am considering purchasing this for someone who has a strong preference for covers which do not bend. Thanks for your help!

the cover is flexible, yet not flimsy.. It feels like a gift-box thickness, cardboard base, covered & stitched on with thin layer of imitation leather. It has a luxurious appearance, and I have not found any affordable journals that look this nice. The pages are quite nice as well, each footed with different encouraging Scriptures.

Just to follow up, I did purchase this journal and am glad I did. While the cover is flexible, it is pretty sturdy and very acceptable. Beautiful product.
