No, Nightingale is not a sequel to Sons of Thunder. You can easily read it as a stand-alone (they are both set in WWII, but that's where the similarity ends. I tried and failed to read SoT, but enjoyed Nightingale).

No, it is not a sequel. I have read both books and can personally attest that they did not follow the other. Nightingale was a fabulous story!

No, they are both part of the Brothers In Arms series, and both take place during World War II, but the characters are different.
