I don't know if it would work off the disc, but i installed it on my hard drive with no problem.

It is installed on the Hard Drive and runs without the disc. I have only used my disc once and that was to install the program

You can install or work off the dvd. I installed on my computer. You also can connect to the internet to get updated materials.

I know that I am running mine on Windows 7 Ultimate Edition & software that runs on 7 usually runs on Vista.
On the Disc it self it says "Works on XP, Vista & 7"
So yes it should work fine.
