I would estimate this book would be good for age 8 on through adult. There is a lot of history that may not be picked up by younger children, and it may not hold their interest as well. We are on the last book in the series with my 12 y.o., she can't wait for our read-a-loud time each day. We've thoroughly enjoyed everything in these books and have learned so much!

This book would be suitable for 3rd graders and up. The story is captivating and you will not see a great narrative like this on hymn writers other places in publication.
