The book is written as if from the perspective of a 16-year-old girl. I think girls a bit younger than that could read it as it deals honestly but not graphically with major issues facing teens today.

Ive read the series as Melody Carlson in general is my favourite author. I'd say the series is appropiate for 15-16+
