This series of books was developed by the teachers in the Ridgewood, New Jersey Public School, and has been in use for the past ten years. Book 4 corresponds with Grade 7, and helps develop students' understandings of what analogies are, why they're useful, and how they're used. Activities range from word banks to graphic organizers to standard analogy format type activities, as students learn how to compare relationships between different sets of words. Descriptive, Comparative, Serial, Causal and Categorical analogies are given with four different levels of complexity to challenge students at their own level. 37 non -reproducible pages, softcover.
