What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? - Mark 8:36.

These words said by Jesus 2000 years ago get to the heart of questions that many people ask: Is there a God? Is there anything beyond death? What is life really all about?

You may have heard something about Christianity, but never properly looked at the man who stands at its center: Jesus Christ. There is no better way to do that than to read the Gospel of Mark.

Mark wrote one of four biographies of Jesus found in the Bible. He starts his account by claiming that Jesus is the Son of God. And he challenges us to ask three big questions as we read:
  • Who is Jesus?
  • Why did he come?
  • What does he call us to do?
He tells us that our answers to those questions are literally a matter of life and death.
