In recent decades there has been increasing interest among scholars and a larger public in these Targums. A noticeable lacuna, however, has been the absence of a modern English translation of this body of writing. It is hoped that this present series will provide some remedy for this state of affairs. Bernard Grossfield is a Professor of Hebrew and Aramaic at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and founding member of the Association for Targumic Studies. He is a specialist on the Targum and has written extensively on them.
