It's a little hard to peg down. Yes and no.
Yes, in that McGee is no fan of evolution or of even trying to make Genesis and evolution sync up, and his reasoning is pretty solid.
No, in that he does not subscribe to any view as to exactly how old the Earth is.
Some of the harder questions about Genesis are not answered, totally in my opinion, quite satisfactorily. But having listened to McGee's radio show for a long time, I can say for absolute certain that his answers improve as one goes through.

This "thru the bible" approaches the bible by explaining the bible period. In other words, if you read a bible, he will explain it. I hope that answers your question.

Yes. It has a good discussion of evolution and why he doesn't use this in his estimation in the prologue.
