Absolutely, this would be a great program for your 2nd grader. Likely a 2nd grader will fly through this in a few months, but it will be a really solid foundation for your next program.

To prevent teaching Prima Latina ONLY to my 3rd grade son this year, then having to teach Prima Latina to my 2nd grader AND Latina Christiana 1 to my 3rd grader next year, I just decided to have my younger (2nd grade) son begin Latin this year, too. We are only on our 2nd lesson (we do one a week since there are 25 lessons in the book) but he seems to be "getting it" as well as (if not a little better) than his older (3rd grade) brother. I'm sure it depends on the child, but I don't think there would be a problem to start this with 2nd grade.

Yes, this curriculum is appropriate for kindergarten through grade 3.
