Author/Artist Review

Tell us a little about yourself.  We have a Creation ministry in central Florida teaching science from a creation perspective to groups of homeschoolers and offering "Creation Adventures" to homeschool families and Christian schools. Bill was head of SeaWorld Orlando's Education Department before going to seminary. Then, he served on church staff and was head of the science and Bible departments at a Christian school before we started "Science Partners" in 2000.

What was your motivation behind this project?  Our motivation behind writing "The Complete Aquarium Adventure" was to honor God as our Creator and to point people to Him by helping them discover some of the incredible animals of the sea.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  We hope that people will be able to use our book as a tool to have an exciting adventure to an aquarium, the beach, a marine-life park - or even a "field trip" at home! It has a "Before the Aquarium" section (including devotions) to help prepare for your trip; an "At the Aquarium" section with info from a creationist perspective on over 30 animals seen at aquariums; and an "After the Aquarium" section with reproducible follow up activities for all ages, as well as a "Tool Kit" (with animal fact cards, Ocean Zone cards, and games) that comes out so you can take it with you!

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  In researching this book, we visited many state aquariums as well as marine-life parks. We were constantly awestruck at the amazing handiwork of our Creator!

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  We are inspired by the magnificent works of our Creator! Every animal, every leaf, every rock tell of his creativity and power.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  We were science editors for "The Aquarium Guide" (published by Answers in Genesis) and have edited articles for Answers magazine. We have both been trained and certified by the University of Florida as Florida Master Naturalists. We have also been trained by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission as facilitators for Project WILD, Project WILD Aquatic, Florida Black Bear, and Flying WILD programs.
