I've not noticed this behavior. It is just contains the four ballpoint ink pen colors. Again, I've only used on regular copy paper and coloring pads (for kids), so I'm not sure if it might bleed through "thin paper" (like in hymnals and some Bibles)> The colors are dark enough I'd guess they might.

All ink pens have the capability of bleeding through paper depending on several factors (i.e. time writing, force pushing down, thickness of paper, etc). This pen does not seem to bleed easily, but it is still possible to make it do so.

I haven't seen any offers for replacement ink inserts so I presume it is a toss-when-done product. Given the current price deal, maybe buy in bulk so you don't have to worry when the ink runs out.
