answer 1
You really need to know the typeface to know what you're getting. The ESV compact Bible uses a face with a relatively low X height (the height of the lowercase x), which makes reading more difficiult at 6 points than a face with a high x height. See the examples in the image attached. All of these samples are 6-point type. So, unless you know the face used, it's difficult to know what you're going to get.

Go to Microsoft Word or some equivalent program. Then type the word "testing" (or any other word that's more than three letters long) with the font size set to 6 and the font type set to Verdana. I feel it's similar to the text in this Bible from what I can tell, though it may just be my computer too. Hope that helps :)

It's really small. I guess type using 6pt font in Microsoft Word and you might draw a comparison.

Typical print size is 12-pitch for business letters and some companies use 10-pitch, which is slightly smaller. I believe that a 6 point print would be pretty small, comparatively.

This print is small. if you have a bill or statement from someone like Nicor Gas you will get an idea of the size of the print. You could also choose a normal style of font in a program, like word, pick the font size 6pt and print. Oh, by the way(btw) if it doesn't give you 6pt as an option then type it in, most programs will let you type in your own font size. :)

The ESV Compact Bibles are a 6 point font. Open a Word document. Choose 6 point text in "Times New Roman". Type in the document and then print it. This will give you an idea of what size text this Bible will have.

Select font size 6 in your computer word processor, take a print out and you will get point 6. But based on exprience (with compact size bibles) even the 6.5 point size I got is not large enough.
