This set is appropriate for all ages. Might be a little over a toddler's head but it would hold their attention because of the animation. I know they show them in elementary public schools. As with anything some of the content may be better suited than other but all of the information on this is historical facts. For our family it's been a fun way to learn about and brush up on historical facts.

My 6 year old loves it and the content isn't too intense for his 4 year old brother to be in the room with him. I don't think the 6 year old understands a lot of the underlying content of the historical significance, but he enjoys watching it. My step-daughter said she watched it in 5th grade at her school and she thought it was good then, so I imagine it appeals to a wide range from maybe 5-12? It's not painful for me to watch as an adult (lol) but my 4 year old gets bored and plays toys instead of watching it. Hope this is helpful.

Question

Any violence?

My kids are more sensitive to violence than others. Considering this is about a war, can anyone give me any specifics as to what is shown. I understand that there's probably not bloody battles or anything, but I guess I'm asking about how much peril, death, and violence.

It's been a while since my kids watched this show, but I dont' remember violence being excessive. The focus was really more on the history and characters. It's a great tool for kids to learn about history. One of our product reviews for this DVD set states "My 6 year old loves it and the content isn't too intense for his 4 year old brother to be in the room with him."
