This is the sixth in a series of Bible studies utilizing both Scripture and song to interpret God's movement in the lives of individuals and in the world. Each study uses the African American spiritual as a way of centering the perspective, culture, history, and needs of the African American community in the study of the Bible.
The Leader Guide includes steps to prepare for each lesson and the CD containing the pieces discussed. Music is sung by Diana Poe, a professor and artist-in-residence at Tennessee State University in Nashville. She is accompanied by Reginald Green on the piano.
