Yes, BUT they are very repetitive of each other. Well Trained Mind and others recommend skipping 8/7 altogether unless your child needs the repetition. If they understood the concepts in 7/6 they are ready for pre-Algebra (algebra 1/2). Just recently I read a review that advised the opposite, suggesting a student complete 8/7 but then skip right into Algebra 1. My two daughters did the first method I mentioned (skipping 8/7) and did well throughout high school math.

Yes, "Saxon Algebra 1/2" does follow "Saxon Math 8/7". This kit includes the hardcover student text, test booklet, answer key and Dive CD-Rom. The solutions manual (CBD stock number 420116) must be purchased separately.

The solutions manual shows how to work each problem individually. The Answer key just gives the answers to each problem.

The Answer Key contains only bottom line answers to the problem sets, but does not show how the problem was worked out. It also has step-by-step solutions to the test problems.
The Solutions Manual contains the answers to the problem sets with the step-by-step process that was used to reach them. It does not cover the tests.

Does this kit contain a solutions manual?
The description says that it has a test booklet and answer key. Is that referring to a solutions manual? I need two textbooks, one solutions manual and one dive CD for Algebra 1/2 but it doesn't seem like any of the kits have the text, solutions manual and dive CD. Also it doesn't seem like you can buy just a textbook. Can you?

No. The Solutions Manual is not available in any of the multi-media combo kits, but can be purchased separately as CBD stock number WW420116. The textbook is not available as a single component.
