Hudson Taylor's life and legend depicted in manhua form (manga produced in China) conveys the heart of his ministry to the Chinese people in the last half of the 19th century. Tien Dao and Po-Shing Cheung collaborated on the original Chinese version, which was based on the writings of Hudson's descendants (and kept as faithful as possible to their work) and translated into English by K. Meikle and Jan Greenough. Connecting the dots from his early calling to his acceptance of Chinese cultural customs, marriage and family life, work with the China Inland Mission, later life mission, and ultimately his death, the book depicts an example of a life not wasted. Although the artwork is anachronistic in some places, the artists give forth their own view of what Hudson experienced in his life, which he dedicated to foreign missions for the glory of God.
