Question
What is the difference in the NASB Bible from the ESV?
My church uses the ESV Bible and I know John MacArthur teaches and preaches from the NASB. I wanted to know what was the difference in the two Bibles. Thank you.

ESV is an excellent translation. My Pastor feels the NASB is closest to the original manuscripts of the Bible. You can't go wrong with either one. Sorry if that doesn't help you much.

Almost identical in every way. The ESV edition has color added (blue) and a better font, however, the ESV concordance is weak by comparison.

Some of the key differences between the ESV and NASB are as follows:
The ESV is designed around an 8th grade reading level while the NASB is 11th grade.
The ESV is a new translation (2001) as compared to the NASB (1995).
The ESV had more than twice as many people working to translate from the original texts.
The ESV used more sources than the NASB.
The ESV focused on being theologically conservative.
However, the two translation are both great for adults to do in depth Bible study, and they both use very similar word choices in common translations.
