The Fire Bible Student Edition is directed towards students, also known as Campus Missionaries (CM). There are many, many notes in the Student Edition that help a student learn how they can live out their faith on their campus, especially if it's a secular school. For a long time, Youth Alive (YA) was giving a Student Edition free to anyone who signed up to be a CM, because they partnered together to effectively teach students how to live out their faith in the school environment.
The Global Edition, as far as I can tell, is the Student Edition without all the notes for students. The study notes, articles, and other misc. additions are all the same, and just as in-depth and helpful as in the Student Edition. However, there are no notes or anything specifically geared to one group of people (i.e. students). Hence, the "global" aspect of it.
Either edition is an extremely valuable tool to help you learn more about G-d's Word. :)

The Student Edition has a front section geared to student life. It is the content from the Full Life Bible, with little to no editing.
The Global Study edition does not have the front section that's in the the Student edition. It is edited some to make the language easier in the notes. The intention was to make it more readable for a global English-speaking audience.
