Dickens most autobiographical novel, David Copperfield
follows the life of young David. After his mother dies, he's left to the care of his stepfather and shipped off to work in a London factory; after running away, he goes to his aunt, Betsy Trotwood. As he grows into an adult, he encounters some of Dickens' most famous characters, including the slippery Uriah Heep, childlike Dora Spenlow, cruel Murdstone, faithful Peggotty, and others.
