I have used both and I say that the ESV Study Bible is good but more of a knowledge & understanding take on things through out the study notes. The Reformation study Bible is theologically the best (in my opinion) and all the study notes are through the lens of the gospel and living a cross centered life.

The "ESV Study Bible" has notes that are theologically neutral, whereas the "Reformation Study Bible" contains notes that are specifically reformed in their theological presentation.
