Customer Questions & Answers for
Gobible, LLC NIV GoBible Original, Narrated by Charles Taylor

The Original GoBible is a hand-held, portable MP3 device preloaded with the entire audio version of the Bible.
The Original GoBible does not interact with a PC; all of its content, over 70 hours of audio, has been downloaded onto the device. This is an audio device only. The Original GoBible's interactive on-screen menu allows the user to easily scroll through the Old and New Testaments and select the book, chapter, and verse to begin play. The Original GoBible is indexed to each of the over 31,000 Bible verses, so the user may begin play, repeat or bookmark any individual verse in the Bible. Additionally the Original GoBible has special features that make Bible study and organization very simple:
  • Story Index of 230 of the most popular Bible stories broken down by Testament
  • Topic Index of approximately 30 different emotions and circumstances
  • Holiday/Events Index of over a dozen key days and moments
  • Bible-in-a-Year plan
  • Bookmark cache of 36 bookmarks
  • Voice Menu for sight impaired
The Original GoBible is operated by 1 AAA battery (included). The device is approximately 3.5 inches by 2.5 inches by .5 inch. The screen size measures 2.4 inches in diameter. It weighs approximately 3.2 ounces. The package comes with a GoBible Original, earbuds, a USB cord, a carrying case, and AAA battery. The earphone jack on the Original is universal and supports any standard set of headphones. The Original may also be played through two accessories: a set of portable speakers or an FM transmitter that allows audio to play through a car stereo.

Questions & Answers for Gobible, LLC NIV GoBible Original, Narrated by Charles Taylor

Question

will it turn off automatically?

This is about the GoBible. Is it set up by chapters, books, etc. in playlists? Would it work to listen to when going to sleep, and yet not keep on playing all night long? I think this would be perfect for my mom who loves the Word, but also has trouble sleeping. She could listen herself to sleep. What better material to rest by? Thanks!

answer 3
If you are in one of the specialty modes, such as "Story Index" or "Bible in a Year" the device will return to the main menu, after the selection is played, and shut off after 5 minutes if there is no further activity. For general listening, the device will play through to the end of the Testament.

He is just 'speaking', there is no music or 'drama' with it, it's very easy to listen to and understandable, he's talking just like you or I would. We have dramatized versions in other formats and it can get overwhelming sometimes. (CD/DVD)

I got this for my husband so I have not used it, but it has a 'bookmark' feature that you can set to where you left off reading. Otherwise no, I don't think it would automatically start up where you left off.

No, it does not save where you leave off automatically. When it turns on it brings up the main menu. A bookmark feature is provided so you can save your place.

Question

What does it mean to not have a recharagable battery?

One of the few differences between the Original and Voyager models is the rechareable battery, which the Original does not have. So does this mean once the battery runs out on the orignal model it is no longer any good, or does it mean you can then only listen to it if it is plugged in to an outlet?

it comes with and runs on one regular triple A battery. There is no cord to plug it into an outlet. It actually has some kind of meter on it that tells you how strong your battery is. My husb has been using the same battery for over 2 weeks now, and he's been using it everyday. You could probably use your own rechargeable battery if you had one that size.

The GoBible Original uses a standard AAA battery. This battery must be replaced once it dies. The Voyager has a rechargeable battery, which can be plugged into a wall outlet for recharging, so replacement is not necessary.

This has a jack that will receive both headphones and speakers. You just need to have the correct hardware to make it work. It is intended to be used with ear buds or a headset, so the experience may vary depending on the device you use.

Question

Does this allow me to repeat a verse, or chapter if I am trying to memorize it?

I am trying to memorize Matthew Chapter 5. Let's saying I'm laying down in bed and trying to fall asleep. If I put this on, is there a way for it to continue repeating Chapter 5?
