The Original GoBible is a hand-held, portable MP3 device preloaded with the entire audio version of the Christian Bible.
The Original GoBible does not interact with a PC; all of its content, over 70 hours of audio, has been downloaded onto the device. This is an audio device only. what is the narration like on this device? is it multiple actors (as the packaging suggests)? does it have sound effects for dramatization?

You have to pick the one that specifically says DRAMATIZED (I'm speaking for the "NIV Dramatized" as I'm answering this). yes it's multiple actors, you can tell that different people speak for different characters and different people read each book of the bible, etc. There's background noises such as dishes clanking when Jesus is eating with the sinners, the wind and water sounds when Jonah is thrown overboard, etc. There's slight piano music for the Epistles and the Psalms, etc. Nothing too overpowering though. The Word is the main thing you hear.

Question
Not good for reading?
I read a review that stated that this device isn't good for reading, can you elaborate on that? Is it possible to pull up a verse on this device without the narration and maintain that verse for minutes on end without have screen change automatically with the narration of the scriptures? In other words, can I use this device in a Sunday School Class while quietting the narration on, say John 1:1-3 and maintainting that verse throughout the entire discussing of the verse?

The GoBible Original doesn't actually feature the Biblical text. It is an audio-only device. For a similar device, we'd recommend looking into the GoBible Voyager which does offer the option of on-screen Biblical text (e.g. WW642097).
