Accelerated Christian Education Grade 9 English 1 PACEs 1097-1108

Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) curriculum has Scripture as its foundation, fully integrating biblical principles, wisdom, and character-building concepts into education. Students move at their own speed through the self-instructional "PACE" workbooks. Following the mastery approach, PACEs are formatted for students to complete the exercises found throughout the workbook, take a practice "self test," and conclude with a "final test" (torn out from the center) to measure understanding.

Students will learn about how to write correctly as they learn grammar, reading, and writing skills. This set includes English 1 Grade 9 PACEs 1097-1108, which covers:

  • Using resources-dictionary, thesaurus, concordance, encyclopedia, and the library.
  • Outlining.
  • Writing a biographical sketch and answers essay questions.
  • Write with verbs-action/linking, transitive/intransitive, active/passive voice, tenses, progressive form, and emphatic mood.
  • Reading and analyzes The Swiss Family Robinson by Johann Wyss and Twice Freed by Patricia St. John.
  • Parts of a book; the elements of a short story and a novel-chronological order, spatial order, and order of importance; the exposition, complication, and resolution of story plots.
  • Simple, compound, and complex sentences.
  • New vocabulary words.
  • Literal and figurative meanings of words and understands word derivations.
  • Writing a composition unified by a single coherent thesis with a consistent tone and focus.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of sentence construction by correctly using clauses, phrases, and the mechanics of punctuation.
  • Is encouraged in character development through examples given in each PACE.

    Fill-in-the-blank, word-bank, and multiple-choice type exercises help with review and retention. 35 pages each, paperback booklets. Grade 9. English 1/I1-12. PACEs 1097-1108.

    Answers are not included, but are available in the sold-separately SCORE key.

    No, the literature resources are not included with the PACEs, they must be purchased separately. The CBD stock numbers are WW840084 "The Swiss Family Robinson" and WW503956 "Twice Freed".
