Each discussion took place over a 1 hour period, but the DVD video for each discussion is only 20 minutes.

Each session is about 25-30 minutes. But the majority of that time is discussion between the non-believers, so alot of questions and concerns are raised in that time - which means lots of material for the leader to address!

Is there a difference between the discussion guide (sold with the DVD) and the participants guide (sold separately)?
I am talking about the series by Tim Keller The Reason for God.

We did not get the participants guide. I do know the discussion guide has introductory comments, the objection for the discussion, questions with group discussions, answer guides for each question, and closing thoughts for each discussion. There is so much, we never got to do every question.

Question
Can this DVD be used with teens?
In other words, would a youth pastor/volunteer, have success in using this with 14 or 16 year-olds? Would average teens understand this DVD and connect with it, or would they most likely find it boring and irrelevant?

Some teens will find this study fascinating, others will find it less than exciting. A great way to test the group would be to ask a couple of questions and see what happens.
If you ask "Why does God allow evil in the world", and no one seems interested, this is not the study for your group.
If it launches into a huge discussion, this study will help guide the discussion and give some resources to work with.
If possible, you may want to have someone who has experience with this kind of material leading the discussion. For a person with limited subject knowledge to lead it, there may be more confusion than clarification to younger minds who may not have their foundation in God firmly established.
If you ask "Why does God allow evil in the world", and no one seems interested, this is not the study for your group.
If it launches into a huge discussion, this study will help guide the discussion and give some resources to work with.

The DVD is designed to be used with the discussion guide. The book would offer additional insights into the subject matter which may better help to facilitate the study especially if you have a very inquisitive group.
