Thirteen-year-old Skye Nicholson has become an expert at making sure no one will ever hurt her again. After her cold and angry behavior and numerous offenses remove her from more foster home placements than she cares to count, she’s headed toward juvenile detention. But then she’s given one last chance—an opportunity to live at Keystone Stables, a foster home and therapy camp where she meets a beautiful sorrel horse named Champ. As hard as she tries, she can’t deny she loves Champ—but her refusal to accept her new foster parents and their Christian faith might mean losing Champ forever.

Author/Artist Review

Author: Marsha Hubler

Tell us a little about yourself.  I've worked with children from the ages of five to 18 in public school, a Christian school, a conduct-disordered school, as a homeschool consultant, and as a foster parent. All these experiences have helped mold the true-to-life characters for all the Keystone Stables books.

What was your motivation behind this project?  I wanted to share the love of Christ and the salvation He so freely offers to those who believe in His death, burial, and resurrection.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  I pray that readers will either accept Christ as their Savior or determine to live obediently according to God's Word to please God.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  Writing the books made me more determined to serve the Lord faithfully and to try to reach more souls with the gospel message.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  My number one influence is Jesus Christ and His Word, the Bible. I have several very close and dear author friends who are a constant encouragement.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  Deut. 33:27 "The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms." Job 13:15a "Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him."
