What ages is this Bible appropriate for?
My granddaughter will be 9 soon. Is this too young for her? She is not a big reader and reads mostly comic book-type literature.

We use them in our children's church class, ages 8-12, which includes many different reading levels, and they seem to work well.

Definitely not too young - really perfect - I have been using this for grade 2 and 3 class - it is age appropriate for 8 through 12 year olds. I highly recommend it.

is this particular bible the original NIV translation from 1978 or 1984, or is it the new NIV which is very different?
I am looking to find a kids Bible in the old NIV translation. thank you

I am not sure, perhaps 8pt, my grade 2 and 3 children use them, and the print is perfect for these little people and older eyes as well. Tremendous Bible - you won't be disappointed at all!
