Customer Questions & Answers for
Howard Books Happy, Happy, Happy: My Life and Legacy As the Duck Commander

Want to meet the man behind the beard? Besides having a popular reality TV show on A & E, and a multi-million dollar business, Phil Robertson has shared his story with thousands of people at churches and public speaking events. Now in his memoir Happy, Happy, Happy: My Life and Legacy as the Duck Commander, Robertson shares his life's journey behind the camera.

It hasn't always been the "good life" for Phil. As a young man he turned to drinking, drugs and wild living to try to fill the emptiness in his heart, in the process causing hurt to his young wife and family. It wasn't until he turned to Christ and dedicated his life that things began to turn around, and he became the entreprenuer who created a product that changed the duck hunting industry. Happy, Happy, Happy isn't just the story of an American dream come true, it's the story of a changed life. As you read you'll be inspired to believe that God can reach the hardest hearts with His love and truth, and fill their lives with lifegiving purpose.

Questions & Answers for Howard Books Happy, Happy, Happy: My Life and Legacy As the Duck Commander

Question

Would this be appropriate for a 12 yr old boy?

Our son LOVES the Robertsons, so I'm wondering if this book would be okay for a boy his age? If it were a movie, would it receive a PG, PG-13 or R?
Thank you!

It's mostly PG. He is honest about his use of alcohol and drugs during his 20's. He talks about his break up with Kay when he told her to get out. You might want to wait until your son is 14 before you to let him read it.

answer 2
I would have to say honestly PG-13. Phil is very honest at the things he and his family have had to endure, but I think that is what makes them so appealing. They don't candy-coat anything and it definitely keeps the conversation open between our children about the things going on in the world. Phil shares how they all endured them to arrive at where they are today, giving God all the glory!

answer 3
If the Robertsons produced and directed the movie, probably PG=13 (maybe G), only due to a bar fight scene. Hollywood's version is who knows !!!Recommended reading.....I am a Christian, as are my sons, and all would agree it's ok. May have some questions, but usually that's a good thing.
