It seemed a normal spring morning in Savannah until Jonathan Rayburn heard an angelic voice on Monterey Square. Within moments of setting eyes upon the exceptionally beautiful Keri McGuire, he welcomed her to his beloved city and into his heart. In the days ahead, his faith is severely tested because of one homeless man and a civil lawsuit. Daniel Stanton, a busy attorney in St. Augustine, arrived at Mrs. Quinn's home, questioning why his father's client has requested his legal advice. One portrait upstairs caught his attention; one nearly identical portrait in the music room captured his wishful thoughts. Never in his life had he been so disappointed when he actually met the granddaughter from Milwaukee. While Laura Martin challenged his ethics, he prayed to be a man of conviction.

Tell us a little about yourself. Since birth, I received a rich heritage with wonderful parents and a strong church. My brother died when I was a child, I gave my heart to the Lord at an early age, and I survived Hodgkin's Disease three times before the 11th grade. My husband of fifty years is a great minister of the gospel. We love our three daughters and eight grandchildren. I enjoy participating in Beth Moore Bible studies, traveling in the U.S., working in my flower garden, and connecting with friends on Facebook. I promote my novel through a Facebook open group by the same title: Springtime in Savannah.
What was your motivation behind this project? My original motivation was to live vicariously through my characters. I loved the editing process. For unlike reality, I could alter the outcome to a happy ending, add my humor, imagine suspenseful tales, fit historical information into the dialog, and compose moments of inspiration. My motivation for publishing my book was to honor my mother's request.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? This question is too large to answer, except to say that I dedicated my book to the Lord in a private prayer service. I believe in allowing God to open or close doors. I pray this novel will minister to each reader in an individual, unique way.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? My father and I shared the same books, so I gladly gave him the portions I had written. He approved. My mother rarely let me finish a sentence, so it was a surprise when she listened to me read the entire 400 page book.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? 1-Grace Livingston Hill described the complete opposites in her characters, and she presented the plan of salvation in each book. 2-Through Charlotte Bronte, I met my favorite character, Jane Eyre, a young woman that spoke from her heart with amazing passion. 3-Eugenia Price filled her novels with interesting characters and historical information while introducing me to Savannah, St. Simons Island, and St. Augustine.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: At a moment of inspiration, I began writing. I considered quitting many times for I struggled with every aspect, especially the computer. While visiting St. Augustine, I received an idea for a second novel. I gave God the credit, and I truly enjoyed writing the set novel, set in St. Augustine. In an effort to develop my own writing style, I wove the stories together on a timeline. Springtime in Savannah is uniquely written in a third-person, multiple POV's style.
