Tell us a little about yourself.  I'm a registered nurse with a master's degree in counseling. I've been married over twenty years to a former Army helicopter pilot I met while an Army nurse. I'm the mother of two sons, one deceased, the other now just finishing up his freshman year in college, and one step-daughter who has now made me a grandmother, though I'm far, far too young to really be a grandmother. I live in the country outside Colorado Springs and love quilting, flower and water gardening, and reading (in whatever spare time I have).

What was your motivation behind this project?  After the death of my youngest son in 1996, I turned back to God. In my search for a deeper relationship with Him, I began to read voraciously of any and all things spiritual, including inspirational fiction. It was then that the concept for my first inspirational romance, DAUGHTER OF JOY, surfaced. Prior to this book, I had written 15 romance novels for the secular market. The Lord, though, has now turned me down another path, one I hope to tread for as long as He wishes. DAUGHTER OF JOY is the first book in the "Brides of Culdee Creek" series. Book two, WOMAN OF GRACE, is now also available, as of June 2000. The third book in the series, LADY OF LIGHT, will be released in March 2001. All the books in the series are based on the meaning of the heroine's name and a primary spiritual theme of the book. Hence, Abigail, the heroine in DAUGHTER OF JOY, means "source of joy" and the story addresses her search for renewed joy in life after losing her husband and son. Hannah, the heroine of WOMAN OF GRACE, means "given to much grace" and is the story of her search for forgiveness and her discovery of the true gift of God's grace. Claire, the heroine of LADY OF LIGHT, means "source of light, bright, illustrious", and is the story of her search for a true home and family, and her call to be a source of strength and light to those she loves.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  DAUGHTER OF JOY is the story of one woman's--and man's journey back to the true meaning and purpose in life. It is, in many ways, my story as well. Perhaps there are threads of your own story--and journey--woven there, too.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  First and foremost, the Bible and my religious faith. Regarding favorite authors, I found my greatest inspiration in reading the fiction books of Francine Rivers, Penelope Stokes, and Frank Peretti. As far as spiritual non-fiction, I like Max Lucado, Thomas Merton, and Thomas Keating, as well as Kathleen Norris, Joyce Rupp, and Joan Chittiser.
