I think a high school student could benefit from a leisurely read through this book in an afternoon, or a high school student might benefit greatly by teaching this book to a younger sibling. This book also might give an older student a launching pad for some self- directed study, it might sort of whet their appetite for digging deeper, but I doubt it would be a suffiient study couse all on it's own. I don't think it's intended to be relied upon as a complete geography course even for younger students. It seems to me that at any age, it's intended to promt the teacher and student into wanting to know more.

I don't think I would use it for high school students. They need to learn more indepth information. I think it would even be stretching to use it with 8th graders. If you have younger students, and wanted to use it with multiple ages you could. I would then supplement with other books and require your high schooler to write short reports for a notebook on each of the topics in the book. On the other hand, Volume 2 may be very appropriate for high school studies as an elective because it is about the geography of the Holy Land.

This book is designed for grades 1-6, but can be used with older or younger children. To determine whether this would be appropriate for your child we recommend taking advantage of the excerpt page link located under the CBD stock number on the product page.

It is the only book for the curriculum you'll really need, but there may be other books you want--a good map book (or look for printable maps online) and a lot of books with pictures--you can check these out from the library. There aren't a lot of larger pictures, so if you're teaching younger children, you'll want to make several trips to the library in the course of using this curriculum. You do not need an additional workbook like many curriculums require.
