Saxon 54 is fourth grade, 65 is fifth grade, etc.

Saxon uses the number to signify the approximate grade level. Such as book 54 is 4th grade and 5th grade levels.

Again, you will see this in the 65 book. 5th grade level but used for 6th graders too. Depending on your child's level.

Saxon Home page has a online Pre test you can have your child take to see what book is best to start off with.
