Lee explores the entire scope of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s spirituality: its roots, formation, growth, nature, character, and dynamics as well as its political aspects, which were shaped by his experience and influences. Lee contends that understanding King's multifaceted spirituality will enable the faithful to build the "Beloved Community," which he equates with the Promised Land.
Hak Joon Lee is an associate professor at New Brunswick Theological Seminary, New Jersey. He received his Ph.D. and M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary. He is ordained in the Korean Presbyterian Church of America (KPCA).
