This series has too many flaws, and inaccurasies to list. Just to mention a few: Both Samson, and John the babtist were portrayed with guys wearing dreadlocks. From what I understand, dreadlocks derives from at the core, Rastafarian, do some research. Second, Roma was being pretentious when she said they could not find someone to be "Mary". Then her husband told her "It should be You" (Roma)The guy playing Jesus was a Joke. They twisted scripture, and at the start of every episode, they stated that they were keeping in the spirit of Scripture. If you do not know the bible, you would believe that statement. If you do know your bible, you see it was way off. One lady posted a comment to let them watch it, and explain the facts later. Truth now, and always. I think Roma let her role playing an angel on tv went to her head. Her tv show was no where near biblical, in the truest sense. This "bible" series is just another attempt to allow the world to circumvent the truth of God's word. And to mislead people.

Even easy to understand details recorded in scripture were wrong in this film series. One example: the movie showed a hornless baby lamb caught in some brush when Abraham was going to sacrifice Isaac on the mountain. The Bible said it was a ram caught in a thicket by its "horns"! WHY didn't they follow what scripture clearly teaches? This made me feel I could not trust them to be true to scripture! There were many other errors so I stopped watching and opened my Bible instead.

First of all, I would not show this film to any age group including Adults. It would make or at least lend credence to the idea that these episodes represent what the Bible says or teaches. They are filled with many inaccuracies and some historical scenes are just way off base. For instance, the Sodom scene is very inaccurate. God didn't send "Ninja Angels" with swords to kill the people. And Sodom wasn't destroyed because they partied or had orgies, but for their homosexual sins.
I have had a complete review already of all ten episodes, all the way down to John and Revelation. It doesn't get any better. I am not saying that their was some truthful tales told historically. But what I am saying is that it is entirely out-weighted by the multitude of inaccurate stories about the Bible.

I would definitely give deep consideration BEFORE allowing anyone under the age of 13 to view this series/movie, due to the frequent brutality and murder throughout!
YES, there was indeed great bloodshed in Old Testament scripture, but in todays society, which is already filled with hatred, violence, and murder enough....I would question this films portrayal to be a positive for young children...just my honest opinion!
Do our children need to learn of these acts at such a young age? I don't think so. I was raised Christian in a Bible believing church all my life, and I am still in church at age 55, have taught both my sons the Bible, salvation, and the life of our Savior, and I can honestly say that as a child myself in Sunday school, there was never a violent depiction given or taught to our young minds that even came close to this movies!

If you’re comfortable letting them watch The Ten Commandments, starring Charlton Heston, Yul Brynner, and Anne Baxter, you’ll probably be comfortable letting them watch this.
It should also be noted that the introduction to the series has a statement of purpose something similar to: this series attempts to accurately portray the spirit of the biblical stories.
I took this to mean that the creators were not going for inerrancy, but common understanding and interest.

I watched two episodes now. Both had inaccuracies. I watched the first episode with my grandchildren. They ranged from 3 yrs. old up to 13 years old. The 3 year old and 6 year old boys I think it was somewhat scary although they did not seem to be affected in the next few days. The 8 yr old boy, 12 yr old girl and 13 year old girl were saying it was too bloody and covering their eyes. I had to explain certain scenes and make corrections if the story line was not true to the Bible.

To clarify my answer, teenagers/high school students is more the audience for this movie and this is the audience I made my comments about sharing the movie with, not Elementary school children.

You should show it because it will draw them closer to Christ, it shows God in a great light, as a loving God, as a hero, as our savior, someone they can relate to and in terms they can understand and go back to school and brag about how AWESOME he is and not be ashamed. When they are older, they can learn the Facts about the Bible, right now it's more important for them to have a heart for God and Love him with all their hearts, minds, and souls...NOT to have all the facts right. That's your goal for school age kids more than anything else is develop their HEARTS for the Lord..you can have all the facts right and still have no love in your heart for God. So you decide, give them a tool that will develop their love and passion for God or keep them from it because it's only 90% accurate and not 100% accurate..it's a movie not a documentary and everyone knows not everything in a movie is true.
