We often hear about how Christian schools, teachers, psychologists, therapists, doctors, etc, need to integrate faith into their disciplinary practice. However, often times what occurs is the attachment of a veneer over the discipline, that looks Christian, sounds Christian, but is in fact, simply, not Christian. To help professionals overcome these barriers, IVP is producing a new series called the Christian Worldview Integration Series in which respected leaders and scholars in the field will posit how integration can occur. In this volume, Education for Human Flourishing: A Christian Perspective professors/scholars Paul Spears and Steven Loomis set forth "a vigorous Christian philosophy of education" that is built upon a robust anthropology and challenges the status quo of the pluralist Western education culture by rejecting emphasis on technique and pragmatism over (and against!) content, especially religious content. On the other side of this critique, they offer a concrete plan for instructing students and how their plan results in a flourishing society.
